A 16-day Scotland and Ireland small-group tour from India — medieval castles, misty Highlands, sea cliffs, whisky trails and cities alive with music.
Sixteen days from Edinburgh to Dublin, crossing by ferry from Scotland to Northern Ireland. Start with Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile, then head into the Highlands: Inverness, Glencoe and the Isle of Skye, with Eilean Donan castle on the way. Continue to Glasgow, sail to Belfast and walk the basalt columns of the Giant's Causeway.
In Ireland the route runs down the west coast — the lakes and mountains of Connemara, Killarney and the Ring of Kerry — then medieval Kilkenny and Dublin, with the Book of Kells, whisky and whiskey tastings and live music along the way. A small group of 4–10 travellers, travelling by private coach with an experienced driver-guide.
Arrive in Scotland's capital and settle into your hotel. In the evening, take a relaxed walk to soak up Edinburgh's charm, with the option of a traditional Scottish evening of local food and live bagpipe music.
Take a guided walk through the Old Town, the Royal Mile and the Grassmarket, then visit Edinburgh Castle for sweeping views. In the afternoon, visit the Palace of Holyroodhouse. The evening is free, perhaps for a whisky tasting in a historic bar.
Drive through Fife to historic St Andrews, with its cathedral ruins and famous golf course. Continue via Pitlochry and the Cairngorms National Park to Inverness, with time to stroll along the River Ness.
A day of Scotland's finest scenery. Stop at Eilean Donan Castle, then cross to the Isle of Skye for the Old Man of Storr, Kilt Rock and the colourful harbour town of Portree, before driving to Fort William.
Drive through the majestic Glencoe valley, with photo stops at Loch Ness and Loch Lomond. Arrive in Glasgow for a short guided walk of the city centre.
Visit Glasgow's Riverside Museum, then drive to Cairnryan for the two-hour ferry crossing to Belfast, Northern Ireland's capital.
Follow the northern coastline with a stop at Carrickfergus Castle, one of Ireland's best-preserved medieval castles. Continue to the village of Bushmills, with the rest of the day at leisure.
Explore the Giant's Causeway, where thousands of hexagonal basalt columns step into the sea. Enjoy a drive along the Causeway Coastal Route, then visit the Bushmills Distillery for a tasting.
Travel west across changing landscapes, with a lunch stop in Sligo and an optional sheepdog demonstration. Arrive in Connemara, a region of lakes, mountains and quiet countryside.
Enjoy a slow morning, then explore Connemara National Park on gentle trails. Visit Kylemore Abbey and its lakeside gardens, with time for local villages and cafés.
Drive south to the Cliffs of Moher, one of Ireland's most dramatic sights. Continue across the Shannon Estuary to Killarney, surrounded by lakes and mountains.
Spend the day on the Ring of Kerry, through Sneem, Waterville and Cahersiveen and along the Wild Atlantic Way, with stops at Ladies View and Moll's Gap.
A free day in Killarney. Stroll its lively streets and cafés, or visit nearby Killarney National Park, Muckross House and Gardens, Ross Castle or Torc Waterfall at your own pace.
Drive to Dublin with stops at the Rock of Cashel, one of Ireland's most iconic historic sites, and the medieval city of Kilkenny with its cobbled streets.
Take a guided walk through Dublin's historic centre: Temple Bar, Christ Church Cathedral, the Ha'penny Bridge and Trinity College. Visit the Guinness Storehouse, with the evening at leisure.
